The DocXone story

DocXone is the happy ending to a story of frustration, stress and inefficient use of clicks.

It all started when our people – the accounting team at Connect Accounting – were having a difficult time with the cloud document management solutions used by their accountant clients. These solutions included DropBox, SuiteFiles and Hub One.

Files were hard to find, too easy to move to the wrong place and at risk of modification by unauthorised people. Emails couldn’t be stored, data security was dodgy and, worst of all, not one of the storage solutions could integrate properly with Xero Practice Manager. There was a whole lot of clicking going on, but workflow was sluggish.

The accounting team explained their problems to our in-house IT developers, which led to a ‘light bulb’ moment. What if we took all the best features from DropBox, SuiteFiles and Hub One to create our own, cloud based document management software? It was an idea we had to pursue, for the sake of everyone’s sanity and stress levels.

Less than 18 months later, DocXone was born. It was everything we hoped for and more. Finally Xero accountants had a file storage system that was just for them. It had all the bells and whistles, but it was easy to use and affordable.

After thoroughly testing and trialling DocXone with our clients, we’re ready to offer it to every Xero accountant in the world for an affordable monthly subscription.

Xero and DocXone go together like gin and tonic, fish and chips, Bert and Ernie.
